Hi, im new to the forum and just from id introduce myself
Im 20 years old from south england. I have been suffering with depression since I was about 16 and lost contact with all my friends as a result. Im not suffering quite as badly as i used too, but i still have massive anxiety that stops me meeting new people and socialising. I even dropped out of university as a result and have been too ashamed to tell anyone.
I recently lost an amazing friend and now have no one to talk too, cant see my life going anywhere, and i dont know where to go for help. Im too nervous to speak to a doctor, just dont think theyd understand.
Thanks for reading anyway, hopefully i can meet some new friends on here
Nice to meet everyone

Jensen, hello, and welcome to the forums!! You have found a great resource here for support. I do encourage you to reconsider your thoughts on seeing a doctor, there are many anti-anxiety medications available that could help to relieve some of your anxiety. I can understand your nervousness about going, I was very nervous when I first saw my doctor about my depression, but it was nowhere as difficult as I had imagined! I hope you wl continue seeking support through this site! Take care!
Hi Jensen. I think I met you in the chatroom recently. Welcome to the forums and I commend your strength and ablility to reach out. I can understand your reluctance and nervousness about seeing a doctor, but I think it can be an essential step to feeling better. Most physicians are very capable of understanding and putting the patience at ease when it comes to this topic. I hope you will try and see one. Take care and keep posting.

Doctors
I don't get much from my doctors because telling them what I'm really thinking or filling just gets me in to a psyche ward so I have to tell them whats been going on in my mind witch will likly get me sent to a psyche ward for being to honest. But if they know what I'm thinking they can better help so you should go to a Doctor.
