Thanks (((( Warmie ))))!
The " vote of confidence " and encouragement are very much appreciated, particularly this week.
To cut a long story short...( And that's not like me...!
) our office is being re-organised, along lines that have been tried before in other offices, not particularly successfully as far as I, and many of my co-workers are concerned. When this office-organisation system was originally introduced a few years ago, it was an extremely stressful and frustrating and bewildering time for me. So, this is bringing back a lot of the feelings of vulnerability, worthlessness and futility from that time.
My feeling is that they're trying to boost productivity at the expense of quality, taking an oversimplified, " one-size fits all " view of the work. On the basis that the faster people get the work off their desk the better. And, ( Please forgive me, if this makes me sound like a " boy scout "...), but this is sooo not what I'm good at!!!!
Still, apart from that things are going quite well for me at the moment. A friend and fellow geek at work is " spring-cleaning " at the moment, to give himself more space in his home. So, he's very kindly given me a considerable number of Doctor Who novels that he's finished with. It's given me a lot of books that I'm looking forward to reading, but also it was such a kind thought on his part, that it's made me feel that the world is a warmer place than it can sometimes seem.
Another of my co-workers has been very helpful about listening to me fret, even though I know that she has problems of her own.
