We gotta keep seeing these pains as symptoms rather than logical/reasonable reasons. Dunno if you'll see this reply, but wanted to say that it is in our power to override the "intentions" our minds seem to have. In my experience I had to start out knowing how the pains are stupidly harmful yet not able to replace it with anything good. Tons of practice, hope you figure out the inspiration needed to deny those thoughts anything of correctness.
