I AM THANKFUL:

Postby Warmsoul/Jeanie13 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 5:04 pm

I AM THANKFUL:

FOR THE WIFE:
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT, BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND:
WHO IS ON THE SOFA BEING A COUCH POTATO, BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER:
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED...

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING, AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT:
BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION...

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS:
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

AND I AM THANKFUL FOR: the crazy people I work with BECAUSE they make work interesting and fun!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!

I am thankful for the financial ruin I experienced and poverty, for it taught me to be less greedy, materialistic, and selfish, to give more and need less, and what is really important in life.

I am thankful for all the losses of the previous few years. First, because so much loss makes room for gain. Second, with little left to lose, I am now bold enough to take some risks I wouldn't have had the courage to before.

I am thankful for the depression and PTSD, for they taught me to be more compassionate, caring, giving, and loving to those who are suffering from tragedy and despair.

I am thankful my boyfriend broke up with me, for I am loyal and faithful and wouldn't have broken up with him, even though at times he treated me poorly, and I do deserve better so now I am free to find it.

I am thankful I am an alcoholic, for I have a program of recovery that gives me the opportunity to work on myself and has given me dear friends, one of whom is always there for me.

I am thankful for the leak in my roof, for it reminds me how lucky I am to have a roof over my head when so many don't.

Happy Thanksgiving! ((((((((((((((Warmie)))))))))))))))))))

All I can say is "WOW". You have thought things out and you are seeing the positive.

shatteredhopes those are powerful words written from a genuine heart. Thank you for making me look at things differently. It is really easy for me to be selfish and have a negative attitude but your words have inspired me to try to be more optimistic and to challenge myself as you have so bravely done.

Thank you. I am wishing you many blessings in your life. You are a very special person and I am grateful that our paths crossed.
