The Charlie Schultz Philosophy

The Charlie Schultz Philosophy

(This is marvelous!! Scroll through slowly and read carefully to receive and enjoy full effect)

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip.

You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
4 Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the head liners of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies..
Awards tarnish..
Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4.. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special!!
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials..
the most money...or the most awards.
They simply are the ones who care the most

To those people who have either made a difference in my life, the ones I keep close in your heart, thank you.

Like the quote at the end
"Be Yourself, everyone else is taken"

I am getting better at that. Made a lot of difference with the ECT. Now people say that I am a totally different person.

I don't agree with them. I am still the same person, it is just that I show myself differently by being more outgoing, and (as people who read my posts to this forum) have an easier time putting my feelings out there.

This note caught my eye because I have a friend that just "loves" Peanuts.
Actually the other day she had been going through a difficult time for the week. Turned out that she was so much happier. After I gave her a 0.99 sheet of Peanuts Christmas Stickers. Really made her smile.

I have never been too star-struck about people. When I am asked to name my hero, I have a tough time naming them.

So often it seems that those people who have to deal with chronic conditions that don't seem to have an end in sight. But they still keep hanging in there.

Thanks for another thought provoking post.

(((((((((((((((((((( Monty ))))))))))))))))))

It is post as yours that make it worth posting things to the Corner. Thank you so so much.

Good that you are there for your friend. Always nice to have that 'one friend', as you are.
