" We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves. " Very, in fact dangerously, true!!!! In fact that tendency, ( Particularly true of " smiling depressives " perhaps? ) is quite literally a part of what made/makes me so wary of what harm my depression and anxiety could do to me if I'm not careful and wise in managing it, as best I can.
I wonder sometimes if the " Western culture " we live in doesn't worsen this tendency. In a sense are we " nudged " towards certain disguises? Disguises like, " consumer ", " employee " that perhaps make it harder to " re-connect " with who we truly are under all our disguises, even when we are trying to do so.
Also, I LOVED the L.A. graffiti, it really appeals to my, admittedly idiosyncratic sense of humour!
Hugs (((( Warmie ))))! ( In a reserved " British " way, of course!

Good morning.
I know the disguise aspect is a trap that I have fallen into. Probably by necessity because if people knew how low I felt inside, I am afraid that no one would want to be with me.
Often say that when I go out into public, that I put my game face on.
Kind of sad but I suppose we all do it.
