Renewal


A rainbow breaks through the gloom
Flowers bursting through with their sweet perfume
A peaceful hum, and a gentle breeze
A renewing of the leaves
A sweet song of a bird
Songs of sorrow and joy can be heard
With tunes as old as time
They tell a story, yours and mine
A peaceful river flowing
Time is just perfect for sowing
The grass swaying to music we can't hear
But all around this sense of cheer
Old things breaking off, becoming new
Right in front of me and you
And we are witnesses to the magic as it unfolds
A moment of beauty to behold
How can I look around and not feel the wonder
Even while on the inside all my thoughts are a sunder
But here and now I feel a peace
All my torments seem to cease
I'm caught up in the moment, awakened to what's before me
The evidence of new life I can clearly see
Old things giving birth to a life that's brand new
Standing in awe looking at what's before me and you
This seems to be a perfect moment in time
Everything all seems so intertwined
The things that we see just a reflection of what's to come
Knowing that God's masterpiece is not yet done
Watching as everything goes on in perfect harmony
Knowing that this is God's will for me
To let go of the old and be renewed
Let go of all the things that I've gone through
To sit back and enjoy the finer moments like this
And for once, feel so much bliss
Because like the scene spread out in front of me
I know this is how I'm supposed to be
So now as I listen to this song
I know I can't go wrong
When I give up the old, embrace the new
This moment is for both me and you
