When Will My Turn Come?

When will my turn come?
As I sit here and hum,
With empty arms and aching heart,
Waiting for motherhood to start,
Just sitting here rocking.

I hear the sounds of childhood around me,
They are everywhere I see,
The sounds of laughter sting my ears,
And bring the taste of salty tears,
And yet it never happens.

Will my arms be forever empty and bare?
Wishing for dreams that are never there,
Grieving for things that are lost,
Not willing to pay the cost,
It is just way to high.

Do I have to give up the dream?
What do I do when I just want to scream?
I guess I will just keep the love to myself,
And put it on the farthest shelf,
Maybe it will be taken down for someone special someday.
