THE MASK I WEAR

The mask I wear is there to protect me,
The mask I wear is what everyone can see,
Hiding the feelings so strong and scary,
Hiding the burden that I must carry,
All by myself.

The mask that I wear has been there for years,
The mask that I wear has hidden many tears,
Never slipping or even cracking to show,
Never allowing people to know,
The secret that I have.

The mask that I wear must stay in place,
The mask that I wear has become my face,
Fooling people each and every day,
Fooling them as I met them on my way,
Never telling anything.

Were you talking about me? Feels as if you were. I understand the "mask", in my case the many "masks".

Need to learn how to keep them in place.
