Holiday Depression & Feeling Lonely

Well, it's here now. Thanksgiving, and then in a month from now, Christmas. Once again I'm alone. My family is distant from me and they don't understand how I feel because they have lives and stuff for themselves. Yesterday I let go the only friend I had because he was being mean to me.
I've come to realize that the holidays have been this way for more than half my life. I always feel terrible at this time of year. I feel like there's a stigma attached to being as I am because it seems like everyone else around me have family to get together with. They feel so sorry for me to know the truth about me. Sometimes I feel like I have to lie when they ask me what I'm going to do. I hate it so much.

It's been quite a while since I posted this. No one's been replying, so it's either no one feels it or are too shy to say something.
Today is Christmas Eve. I'm alone today just like I've been for the last 30 years or so and it still hurts. It doesn't get easier with time. The weather here is not great today so I didn't do much. I wanted to get outside and go bike riding but the weather isn't permissible for it. I feel depressed and sorry for myself and it seems like no one understands.

Hello Tom!
Like you, I'm new to this forum. I am so sorry even replied to your posts! (That's pretty depressing enough, eh?). Please check your private messages. i replied. I care. I am here if you want to chat. You are most definitely NOT alone. (Did you know that clinical psychologists receive 30% more clients in the period between Thanksgiving and New Year's? Holiday depression is
real. Let me know if you want to talk. I will listen. I think we're about the same age, and it sounds like we've had similar experiences. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. Let's be friends in 2025.

It's important to remember that your feelings are valid, and you're not alone in feeling this way. Many people struggle with loneliness and isolation, especially during the
papa's games holidays.

How are you doing now?

Thank you for asking me. I'm doing OK for the most part. At least I'm happier now that the holidays are long over with. I guess there's still Valentine's Day coming up but that day doesn't phase me. I still struggle with depression and I probably will for the rest of my life.
I hope you're doing well.
