What are you willing to do?

Postby nenkohai » Mon Aug 05, 2013 2:21 pm

.. to find a solution?

Do you want solutions or do you want to vent? Both are good. But only one results in a path of sustained recovery and management.

What are you willing to do? Nothing? Everything?

I think we all think that we are willing to do "anything" to get better, but me, for example, there are few things I tried and don't really want to do again and there are other things that I wouldn't do.

I'm sorry to say, but there isn't much I'm willing to try anymore. I don't have much hope or energy to try much.

even tiny progress is progress, ya know? An inch today. An inch tomorrow. It will add up over time. Conserve energy. Go slow. Slow is okay. :)

I have never moved an inch in my life. I'm exactly where I was 35 years ago. If I move an inch, I go backwards the other day.

The fact that I haven't moved an inch in 35 years sure makes my life worse every day.

That's the vicious problem with depression, it takes away our will to do anything.

What matters most is how equipped are we, in habits and lifestyle, to handle these depression. When a person goes to a mental health center and asks for help with depression, the first priority should be a detailed assessment of the person’s lifestyle, habits, relationships, history, etc., to determine the source of the depressive feelings.

It is always a healthy approach to take action oneself. Take responsibility for yourself and be involved in your own therapy program.
