The deer came back to bite...um, sorry... EAT the bok choy....

A rooster died on the lawn the other day.... That was BLEH.... & at the same time.

The other rooster--Scaredy--continues to make noise in my head.... I actually did have to gather a pile of rocks so I can startle him when he is too obnoxious.

On a different note, there are some semi-wild chicken I actually DO like. You'll never believe where they are.... ~lol~ They live out by Honda's auto repair shop.... xD They are pretty bold & stately & they do not run from you, unless you give them a reason. They will actually be a bit curious, come near you & crane their heads from side to side to look at you.

The semi-wild chicken are surprisingly refreshing & cool! They carry themselves well & do not cockle too often & when they do it's not obnoxious. (Obnoxious = continuous cockling, wing flapping b4 cockling, piercing sound, &/or cockling for a very long time)

Honda's chickens are EVEN photogenic! They can almost be runway models.... !!! ~rofl~

Some time back, I did see a mongoose (almost looks like a small ferret) just standing around near the bushes by the airport. I was sitting in the car & it came out, being all curious. It just sat there for a good while, checking out the environment.

~lol~ That's sort of rare for them to be out near people like that.... but that was pretty cool. It was good company while I was sitting out at the airport....

Dad & I were riding out near the casino & what do we see at the side of the road?

2 young deer eating some grass near the side of the road

so very reminiscient of bambi (disney movie)

------------------

I went out for a drive & when I came home, I heard a noise, so I walked to trigger the sensor light & what do I see?

A mouse on the stairs ~LOL~

It was CUTE! XD (So glad it's not in the house.....)

There was this cockroach I sprayed the Friday evening....

Saturday evening I went to pick it up & get it out the house....

Do you know that in spite of how I sprayed it, IT WAS STILL ALIVE?

I was SPOOKED!

The antennae was still moving.... I called my Dad to look. (I thought I was seeing things.)

He saw the antennae were still indeed moving.... He picked it up with the dustpan & threw it in the trash + I was like, "NO NO NO; I DON'T WANT IT IN HERE WITH ME! Before the thing revives & comes back to life!"
He just sort of looked at me for what I said... It was pretty funny!

I try not to be too squeamish about bugs, but that spooked me. He did comment that it was very odd that it would still be moving up till now. He did find that to be strange, indeed.

Y'all get ready for this..... I opened the door to find recently.....

A HUGE SPIDER I'D NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN MY LIFE ON THE ISLAND...

The thing was as big as the palm of my hand..... If I had to choose what it was, I would say it was a brown recluse spider.... but those shouldn't exist where I live....

I was driving on the road, minding my own business when...... !!! I saw this spider crawling on the dashboard.... At first I wasn't too worried... Then, I noticed how huge it was..... I thought it was a crab.... & then I was like, "No.... A crab would not be able to crawl like this...."

I found the nearest place I could pull off the road & did so.... The thing went in the little spot by the speedometer....

Oh jeez.... I think I lost a few hairs over this thing.... I called my Dad.... When he saw it, he said he'd never seen anything like it on the island in all of his life (& he lived in the country as a kid).

I nearly had a panic attack from that thing.... I got out the car so fast... Park, brake, left the engine running.... climbed out the passenger side.... emergency lights on my way out....

It was still in the car & was running around on the dashboard when my Dad was driving the car back home.... Mom saw the spider too & was like, "What's THAT?!" Everybody saw it, so I know I wasn't seeing things & that I wasn't crazy.... I knew if they didn't see it for themselves, no one would believe me!

Well, that was my piece of recent excitement.... Strangely enough, after the spider, I saw a huge cockroach in the same night.... That cockroach was CREEPY..... !!! (I could hear it running around.... Man, that was spooky!)

& interestingly enough, I managed to pull out of spell I was having.... I got through all the recent heartbreaks REAL QUICK....

Something else strange happened earlier this week....

The rooster that is usually on the lawn.... Well, a dog came to try to take him away....

& 1 of our neighbors saw it & threw rocks after the dog.... Apparently, the dog had had the rooster in its mouth & was running away with it....

We thought something happened to the rooster, but he's okay. He just lost a few of his feathers from his tail.... I haven't heard him cockling though.... I think he had a huge fright.... I did see him the other day, though....

It's amazing how you get attached to animals....

I haven't seen that rooster anymore & there is a new one on the lawn. Ah, the cycle continues....

Of course, I'm trying to 'train him, so he won't make so much noise in my head...

The other day I found a centipede in the bath tub & the tub was clean, for goodness sakes!! It wasn't too huge. I was going to step in to take a shower. Then, I saw this thing squiggling, & I was like, "AH!!" Really, those things are interesting. I threw Clorox on it, & it played dead but was still very much alive....

Nothing beats boiling hot water, though.... I tend to reach for a spray can in these instances because the bug doesn't usually wait around for me to boil water to throw on it.... XD

((((((((((( Crystal )))))))))))))

You starting your own private zoo hon? LOL

I don't care for bugs. As long as they stay outside of my home and we will get along just fine.

I have a battle of raccoons getting into my attic. Set live traps for them last year, caught several babies and hopefully the bigger one was the mother. ( Hopefully not a baby raccoon on steroids), LOL. As of yet, no raccoons, knock on woods. Geesh, I probably just jinxed it.

Well... I saw something very interesting on the car last night when I went for a drive.

A while back, I saw what was to me a huge orangey looking spider in the car, and now, I saw at least 3 baby orangey looking spiders on the car last night.

Of course, you know I drove with the windows up for most of my trip....

I had this umbrella that i took to work one day. Kept it back in the shop as it was so big and ugly. I took it out to my car when i went home and beings it wasn't raining anymore forgot it in the back seat. About a week later I had about 2 dozen baby spiders drop down onto me as I was driving.... apparantly a spider had laid eggs in the umbrella and they hatched. I almost wrecked right then and there. Had to finish the drive home and made hubby take care of it.
