Another thought/question concerning depression

Postby Warmsoul/Jeanie13 » Sun Jun 15, 2008 11:05 pm

You deal with depression. Depression greets you when you wake, when you start your day. Depression is looking over your shoulder, constantly. Depression is like a shadow that follows you in your life. Only a step away.

What would life be without depression? Can you imagine one day without dealing with depression?

I think of it, I dream of what could be.

Just wondering.

Actual okay what I am about to say will probably drive you crazy or think I am insane but here it goes... I'm glad I have depression. Here, I'll give you a sec to close your mouth in shock lol.........

Ok as i was saying.. I've noticed people who don't experience a lot of trauma in their life are rude and selfish. With me being depressed and having anxiety I have learned the compassion I need to show others because I know how it feels to be in pain. The experience I had with depression made me a better person, made me to never give up hope, made me to focus on how a person is really feeling and not just what they say they are feeling. Yes, depression is awful but it makes me a strong person.

Depression makes you stronger

8) You are so right Emotional. I've often thought the same of people who don't get very big problems. I'm feel sorry for them, never learning to look for the best from life. As for dreaming Jeanie I find daydreams the most uplifting thing for me when I'm coming out of depression. They're like my escape  I do sometimes do a little too much of the daydreaming though.(((((((((((Emotional, Jeanie))))))))))))))))).ty for your input. :)

Dealing with it and then when its gone....I honestly think that feeling would be - bored. Seriously, I went through something like this with anxiety and when the source of it was gone and my anxiety with it it almost scared me that the first thing I felt was boredom. I guess people are just not ready for things like this happen since depression and anxiety tend to have very intensive feelings and experoences.
But in time its absolutely wonderful feeling. I think.
I mean at least you can deal with all your other life problems minus that one. That would be seriously good thing.

I agree completely.
I think if my mind ever stopped racing; I would be bored.
But, it would sure be nice to find out!
I am definitely a nicer person since getting depression, also.
(Yes, I was meaner than snot when I was younger.lol)

i think depression definately made me a nicer, more considerate person... but... i also think that at the same time it made me form unrealistic expectations of other people. i think this made it hurt even more when they were not considerate or respectful in return

so i guess i'm saying although depression can be a comforting state i would rather be oblivious to this more self centered level of thinking and hopefully get a bit more enjoyment out of life :?

I don't know about making me a nice person. Never claimed to be that.

Know with my depression, at least, I tend to be more careful in who I trust. Takes a lot for me to put that emotion into play, for when I do, it is 100%. Too much I know, for when that trust is broken, it is crushing. Makes me realize that I should have known better. Depressed not stupid.

Like giving your love, once it is broken, there is no turning back.

What a comparison to being depressed, but to me it is true.
