A Calling

Postby crystalgaze » Wed Feb 10, 2010 6:23 am

I have been having a calling of sorts lately--like I must spring into action before it is too late.

It's not for myself, though... This lady I know... Well... She's suffering. She & I share a similar illness. (We had problems with our brains at some point. She had a malignant tumor & I had seizures.)

When my dad went away for his cancer treatment & I was home alone, she would call to see how I was doing.

She is a strange lady. At times, she can seem cold, but she just has her ways--like most people do. She is up there in age but still young. She is widowed & her daughter does not live on island. She is alone in the house, much like I was part of last year & about half of 2008.

I have been thinking of a way to try to reach her. She is a great lady, but she can be finicky & get offended quite easily. The way she is going she will die. From since I last saw her, she is probably emaciated looking by now. No one knows what to do to help her.

Every one would like to help her, but we know how she is. There are some people being mean to her as well. However, this lady I know & adore has not been very kind to people around here, especially in her younger years.

I do not believe she is a bad person; you just have to know how to deal with her. She can be remarkably kind. I have seen it 1sthand, but I do know she can be a bit mean...

From having been through my own trials, I am about 90 to 95 % sure she is depressed & her current state is a serious cry for help. It's a cry for help & then it isn't. You know that sort of way....?

The best idea I could come up with is a Valentine's day present... I think I will try, even if she gets upset. She really does not have a good relationship with her daughter because the lady was mean to her.

It looks a lot like the relationship I have with my own mother. I think I will try in the hopes that this thing I attempt to do helps us both. We may very well both improve!

fiasco in the store

Postby crystalgaze » Wed Feb 10, 2010 1:03 pm

All right... I went into the store... There was a whole aisle devoted to V-Day. I saw a card I liked immediately!

I got on line. Okay. I realize I've forgotten the envelope. I go back & get it.... I get back on line.

Boredom creeps in & I end up inspecting the card more. The back is dirty... I think to mysef, "For how much it costs, I should get a different one."

I get off the line again. I see the same card, & grab it. I don't really inspect it, UNTIL I'm on the line again. It's not dirty or anything, but there was no ink for the words on the inside of the card. (It'd be hard to read without the red ink....)

I am off the line AGAIN! I get the card that looked dirty on the back because I really like the card. I finally get through checkout.

Now, I get home & inspect the card again.... It doesn't look dirty to me!

All that agony.... & for what?!

I'm glad you're doing a little bit better today! Yay!

This lady is 1 of my dad's co-workers. I've known her since I was a little girl--at least since I was 9. You are right, though, to beware of strangers!

There is someone else I see, who I think I went to school with some time ago. He looks like a great person, & you know what made me notice him?

He's just like me... Most of the time you see us, we are by ourselves. (Isn't that something?!) The other thing is he does what I do--bring something to block out the world (headphones, music, cartoons, video game console). It was me. It was pretty amazing to see.

~lol~ I wish I got a lot of cards!

No, I am often overlooked, but that is fine.

That lady is SO hard to surprise! Jeez!!! I tried sending it with another lady who knows her well & works with her....

I really wanted it to be a SURPRISE!!! There's no real way I'd be able to get her to come out of the house, unless she stops in on her way to work or a school or something....

Bah humbug!
