Crying

I don't know if I'm the only person here that feels the same but often the only way I can feel better in dark times is to cry. I know that this is not normal and I'm a bit ashamed as a 35 year old man but I find it is the only way to stop the pain sometimes. I do it too much sometimes but it is the only way. And I always seem to feel a bit better afterwards. Must be reasons for that I imagine. Maybe I'll know I'm better when the crying stops. I hope so.

Speaking only for myself, whatever works is perfect as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. I don't cry, my wife says I should just to show the world that there is something or someone I care about. So, if I could borrow your means of coping I would be a better person. Hang in there my friend. There is a silver lining but it is tough to see and doesn't come around very often.

Hi ChrisMUFC,
I know the way many men feel, that they feel like a "wimp" if they wanna shed tears or they already have. Well, screw that. Tear ducts aren't only the female population. Men have them as well. Both sexes have hearts and emotions. Tears don't pool up or pour by mere accident. It's natural to release it. As a matter of fact, (scientifically) there are health issues, including cancer, that can arise from bottling everything up and leaving it to fester....leaving stress to build upon itself. There is nothing wrong with letting it go! If you walk down the street and start blubbering each time someone looks at you cross-eyed? You may have some issues. LOL!
As a female, I appreciate a MAN but I admire when a man can show some emotion! A man who's plain HAD IT and allows himself weep? What's wrong with being human? I understand not wanting to feel/look 'vulnerable.' As a female who's kind of a tomboy, I get that part. Cry when it's necessary. :)

Hi ChrisMUFC. 4EverME is right about crying being a natural release. And it releases chemicals that can help you feel better. So try not to be so hard on yourself for crying.

There's nothing to be ashamed of when you cry. Just try to remind yourself of that.

Thanks hollyann. I may have given MYSELF something to ponder on more. All too often I don't cry near enough! Taught myself not to and now regret it. Yes, there are moments when I'll tear up over my own or someone else's love displayed--over 'sentimental' things...but when it involves crying over stress? It's too rare I get anything out! Wish I could, dang it. It would sure help! Sorta envy those who can cry because atleast there's some stress relief. Today, I'm going to pray that God gives crying back to me. I'm afraid of the dam that might break...and I worry about nosey neighbors. And I fear what's been laying dormant. What if it never stops? So much I couldn't allow myself tears to heal from....Something's got to give!!
