I stopped having periods for a year and they ultimately said it was from my psychiatric medication, although I was on the same medication before and after and still had periods. Depression can affect so many things, but definitely have the doc stay on top of it because somethings that are purely physically are quickly identified, but if they can rule out physical causes, depression can affect sleep patterns, physical pain, chemicals in the brain, so much...have you had your hormones checked? It is possible that whatever has stopped your periods is in fact causing the depression not the other way around...anyway, I did not have periods for a year in conjunction with depression, so it is not unheard of...paramenopause is another possibility which can strike early and also potentially cause depression or mood swings...
