Man, I felt horrible after that 1st session. (Is it always like that?) It is the same crap-o-la all over again, just a different face. I don't even know if I want to be bothered.

I now have a choice: to continue or stop. At most, I may give this 10 sessions to see what her approach is & to make a decision (et cetera). (e.g. Is it helpful to me?) That will be roughly $1000.

Already, she has rubbed me the wrong way, but I will be addressing that calmly in the next session to see what her response will be.

(Oh, I'm looking forward to it. I'm glad I kept the information I had gathered as my major reason for rejecting my 'bipolar' diagnoses. I have to make sure she understands exactly where I'm coming from, lest she think that I am in deh Nile... um, I meant denial.... Hmph....)

The doctor doesn't know anything MUCH about me in any great detail & ALREADY SHE WANTS TO LABEL ME. I AM ANNOYED & I REFUSE. However, she knows to tread lightly with me with that bull because IT IS BULL.

One thing I think is often behind the mega-popular bi-polar diagnoses is blood sugar...even for those not hypoglycemic like me, carbs for instance can spike your sugar and give you temporary "high," anxiety, or crash, and then lower blood sugar or following a spike can make you crash...I am sure you watch your diet in general but it may be worth examining how you are managing your blood sugar if you are not already...some proteins last longer than carbs, and complex carbs are of course better to accompany those proteins...like I really didn't realize noshing on raw carrots by themselves was a bad thing to do, I always thought it was healthy!

If you can afford it and have not already, can you get comprehensive allergy testing and a comprehensive blood panel to test vitamin levels? I know you take vitamins, but sometimes they aren't properly digested and also sometimes certain ones can be too high or too low, which can have an effect on mental health...

I am sure you have already thought of these things, but just wanted to mention just in case...proud of you for being open minded and at least trying a mental health professional!

i went for my first session yesterday, i know we're in different countries so the methods that are used are probably different but i found it a little helpful. it werent jus someone picking and poking around inside my head, i was given some sound advice too. if you think the person your seeing is not right you should see someone else and keep changing until you get someone you like.

S-hopes, thank you for your post as well. It is easy to have a "sugar" problem, even if your intake is low. Sugar...well...isn't just about sugar, but about high glycemic foods, etc.

Thanks for the reminder! & S-hopes, I ONLY went to appease my gynecologist. That's it. I don't believe anything is too wrong with me that I actually need help from a psychologist.

So far, I have bounced back from lots of things. I'm doing good as far as I'm concerned. I always said that when I got a job, I would get myself checked out & even go for treatment.

However, I really don't feel I need it now, especially how it comes packaged these days (labeling with little to no grounds). One of the hardest parts of my life is over.

Do I struggle? Yes.
Have I had moments where coping was hard? Yes.
Did I attempt suicide? Yes.
Have I attempted it again? NO.
Do I feel homicidal? NO. (I'm not going to jail for anyone & I do not wish to harm anyone--myself included. The most I get is annoyed with people & I walk away & throw that crap out of my mindspace.)

Do I need to go to a psychologist/psychiatrist? NO.
(Once they start you on medicine, you will never be able to come off of it, unless you quit yourself!)

Am I angry? Yes. (The most I would do is anger management--& no, I don't have angry black woman syndrome. ~rofl~)

Am I odd? Yes. (My ideas are different from most people I meet.)

Does being odd mean that I need psychiatric help? NO.
(It means my mode of thinking simply is not the norm. I may be ahead of the times. Look at all the brilliant people who were ahead of their times: The persons for the lightbulb, the airplane, the hot air balloon, the telephone, the cellular phone, etc.... What, were all of those individuals mentally ill because they had revolutionary ideas or ideas that were not largely held by society?)

Come now. We must pick sense out of nonsense.
