Some days can be a real battle. a battle to get out of bed, a battle to eat when your just not feeling hungry, a battle to look a loved one in the eyes and say "i love you" not because all those things arent of some benifit to you but because you just arnt feeling like it today.....
what is one truly positive thing you have done or felt or are happy with TODAY!? and why?
intrigued.

its the small things that keep us plodding along so we can see the big things!. today i am happy that i had the motivation to finish one assessment for my mental health unit that im studying, it may have been a small step for most but for me it was a giant leap
and this small achievement will add up to a big one at the end

Yeah,
I'm sipping me a cup of coffee, with the compliments of sugar and hazelnut creamer...
The small things in life bring me joy, too.
Leave nothing taken for granted, you know?
I may not be privy to spiders, but they sure do build some intricately beautiful webs! Well, it's just an example of appreciating the smaller things.

Furthermore, my day is not yet finished. It's about 10:30 pm, but due to my back pain medication, I'm pain free, and simultaneously calm and energetic. For these reasons alone, I'm happy.
Anyway, I just lit a candle. I've got one of those coppery metal candleholders that hang from the porch area. I bought it at a secondhand shop. With its ornately beveled glass, it's lovely, whether there's a flame dancing within it or not.
I'm in a romantic sort of mood, some Yanni instrumentals playing inside! I came outside to smoke, and decided to light more than just my cigarette.
The lights are shimmering softly upon the bay. It's not too cold...My heart, like this flickering candle,--warm.

Oh, Haha!
Fallen, I wish I could send you some hazelnut coffee creamer, via mental fed express. Lol.
This stuff is wonderful, and you can purchase it in either liquid or powder form. (just as with the vanilla coffee creamer, etc.)
Let me know if you wind up trying it! You're in for a real treat. A stick or two of biscotti goes great with it too.
Hmm. Actually, just about everything does, unless it's pickles or something weird like that. Haha!
For all ya diehard pickle ickle fans out there, I'm not knockin pickles, so NO hate mail, please. Heeheehee.

Helping, Seeing, Waking
Grey, grey, grey; it's a grey day, and not a Monday. My house is mess and I don't like company, but a friend needed a place to stay last night. So I said yes and of course he woke at 4:30 and started talking on the phone with his outdoor voice. But I know, sometime today, I'm going to stop for a moment and feel some warmth for having helped him out. So that's something (OK, OK, so that was yesterday) that will make me happy, later anyway. Helping helps!
So what about today. So many times during the day, the whole world feels like jail cell. Well, I'm an avid photographer. One of the few thinks that sparks some hopefulness, is to see a scene as I travel through my day, and say to myself; "Oh, I must come back and set up a shot". Why? I gets me out of my black box in a number of ways: First; I see the light, a different way, and it shifts my emotions. Second; it gets me thinking of the logistics, the planning and execution of the shot, the travel to, the post-processing and final image. Third; I know if I commit to this task, that I will move physically out of that black box if even for a few hours.
It might be sad commentary but unfortunately, one of my happiest thoughts at the end of the day is that I made it out of bed, I made it to work, I stayed the whole day without hurting anyone, and now I can go home back to bed. Why? We are all on this earth such a short time; we really ought to get up each day. And also: we are all on this earth such a short time; we really ought not worry, at the end of the day, about what we haven't accomplished.
