Hi again, xn. Glad you posted more about your life; gives a much more detailed view of who you are. And to me? You seem like a very nice man, even though the, "visitor," invades you daily.

Do you enjoy your work with dogs? I have a dog; a Siberian Husky named Dakota.

Welcome again to the forums here, xn. Hope to hear from you again... soon.

I can imagine how difficult your job must be sometimes - I love animals, particularity dogs. I've never known a ferret but I've heard they are sweet and lovable.

I have a job in children's services, xn. Very rewarding in many ways, but also difficult and sad on other days. I know what you mean in that regard.

What made you get ferrets?

I think it's so important for children to have pets. They need to learn to appreciate and respect them. How many children do you have?

Yes, Siberian Huskies are beautiful - especially mine ;-) but many people don't know what they are getting into when they buy one. They are energetic and very needy. BUT they are also friendly, loving, kind and good with kids.

Hope to hear from you soon!

xn728,

I have been following this thread, and am enjoying getting to learn more about you.

I also, had heard of people having ferrets before. It is great that you have pets as part of your family. It is not often that we can get unconditional love.

My daughter pestered us to get her a cat for a long time. I finally relented when she was 12, and never regreted it. She was so proud that we actually ended up taking her cat to a couple of cat shows. It was really great when she came home with a ribbon. That ribbon stayed, displayed in the kitchen until she left home at 18.

Often I have to turn my head away, when they put news clips on tv about abandoned animals. Glad that the husky was found when she was still in good shape.

Hope she finds as good a home as your ferrets found with you.

Take care

xn!! So glad to hear you liked the chat room!! Really nice people and lots of support from them. I've been going in more often myself... I definitely missed it!

I had cats growing up, and finally decided, as an adult, that a dog was what I really wanted. She is terribly exhausting sometimes, but I love her and can't imagine my life without her in it right now. :-)

Glad to hear, as well, that your children are grown and successful. Must make a parent proud, huh? Good for you... proves you did fatherhood the right way. Hope you are proud of yourself too.

How did the TV watching go? Were you able to concentrate enough to enjoy it?

You are very sweet, Ken. But please don't allow your pain in reading other stories to stop you from getting support and kindness from all of us. Yes, some stories are heartbreaking, I totally get that, but always remember that we are all here for each other, ok?

I usually just take an extra sleeping pill when I want the day to end for me. Things generally look better for me in the morning...

Gold star

Postby Aurelia5 » Sat May 09, 2009 8:53 pm

Ken, I think you should get a gold star for naming a ferret Boris. That is very funny.

I bet besides Amy and me, everybody else is really happy to have you in this little family.

Perhaps a different job would be better?
