Hi all :-)

My nick is Dragonfly, I am female and 25 years old. I live in Austria (no... no kangaroohs.... it's the small country next to germany) and I work as a photographer. I am taking meds against depression since about a year now (trazadone). Sometimes they help, sometime they don't... I just wanna be happy again, but don't know how to reach this goal. Tried reading some "self-helping-books" and looking around in the internet for others like me. It helped a little, but not for long. So I will start a therapy soon. My first meeting with the therapist will be on 31th March. I am very nervous :-(

So, I think, this should be enough for the moment. See you in the forum and in the chat :-)

(Sorry for my english... I think it may not always be gramatically correct  But it is not my mothertongue)

Hi Dragonfly and another welcome coming your way!!! I can understand your being nervous about beginning therapy, I'm sure it will be and enlightening experience for you! Just remember to be honest and allow he or she to help you in the best way that they can. I think it's great that you're being so pro-active in your recovery, and the best of luck to you on your road through therapy!!!

I don't go into the chat much anymore, but I do come here often... Hope to hear from you soon, and please do let us know how the therapy goes. :-)

Hi, glad you found the forum and please you are posting. Remember to keep you 'first' with the appointments, make them hear you. Mew doctors are always scary, i think they are.

See you in the room and really glad you do come in, part of the family now :)

Hope to talk with you soon, and do let us know how things are going. Here and in the room for you, what the room does best, support.

Take care

Warmie/Jeanie13

Welcome Dragonfly,

I haven't been in the Forum for over a week now.

For part of it there were problems dealing with an organization that is
very important to me, more recently it has been a physical problem where I ended up seeing 5 doctors, between a mediclinic, two hospitals, my gp and a specialist. All less than 72 hours.

Even though the physical one was more easier to see than my emotional one. There really was not my difference in my difficulties with them. The physical problem meant that I was only comfortable when in bed. It seems to be better today. Was glad that I could come back to you guys this morning.

One of the doctor's who I saw at the hospital Sunday afternoon, after he had done his procedure said "you are one tough lady".

I didn't meant this to be my story.

I am glad that you found the Forum (I have never been in the Chat Room) and am looking foward to learning more about your life.

I agree totally that you have taken a big first step by arranging an appointment with a therapist.

I was scared spitless, remember wanting to bolt the waiting room, the first time I went to see my counsellor.

Admittedly it did take me a few visits to become totally at ease with talking to her. Looking back on it now, I realize that it was good that I screwed up my courage and went through with that first visit.

Having someone to talk to, who is completely removed from the situation, once a week has helped me immesurably.

I'm glad you're back, Monty. You've been missed!! Are you feeling better now? I'm glad you're well enough to come back here!!!

Dealing with all of that in a three-day period is intense, Monty. I hope you are calmer now along with feeling a million times better!!

You are right on about therapy. After the first couple of sessions, if you have the right person, you begin to feel more comfortable, and you can open up more. And you are so right that a third party that is not attached to your situation can really really offer perspective... oftentimes perspective that you did not really think of.
