Hi I'm new so here's a little bit of information about me.
I was first diagnosed with depression about 2 years ago, I was put on Prozac and was doing CBT but I didn't like the meds and i hated not feeling in control any more, so I pretended to be feeling better and after 3 months I stoped all treatment.
But now I'm kinda stuck, I have a horse to look after but I feel useless. One of my sisters suffers from psycotic deppression and my other sister has panic attacks. So I don't feel I can tell my family but I struggle to get through the day without lashing out and/or crying.
So thats a little bit about me, any advice would be great :)

Hi nome - welcome! I'm sorry that you and your family suffer from this awful illness. Why can't you talk to them about it? You don't think it might make you all feel less alone if you did? Just a suggestion...

As for the medication, perhaps Prozac just was not the right medication for you. The meds are supposed to make you feel well enough to function, not stop your functioning altogether - so it sounds like Prozac was not a good fit for you. Please do remember though, it takes some time for medication to work, as well.

Since you asked for advice, I would say to go back to the doctor and try another medication out. Tell he or she that you did not like Prozac, and you would like to try something else.

Also, have you visited the chat room connected with this site? Lots of great people who can offer you plenty of insight, advice and support.

Hang in there, nome. There is help out there... coming here was a good step for you to take.

Hi ((((((((((((((( nome )))))))))) and welcome.

Sounds like you have more than enough to deal with. Have you considered that since your sisters suffer with their issues, that maybe they will in fact relate with you. Be there for each other? Just a thought.

There are no professional in the forum or the chat room, so really can't give you advice on medication. But as aim typed, perhaps relate the problems to your doctor.

I hope to see you in the chat room. Lots of supportive chatters, that deal with the daily life, as you and I do. Take care.
