Job Search Depression
I've been unemployed for almost seven months now, and have gotten to the point where I don't care if I find another job. There is absolutely no motivation to look. Is anyone else on this forum experiencing job search depression?

Welcome to the forums.
Not knowing where you live, but sometimes in my area there a "Job Fairs" where larger companies get today on one weekend and open up the applications for employment.
Perhaps get in touch with your county offices or mayor's office to see if something like this is available. Just a thought.
Good luck to you.

First off, welcome to the forums!!
Next, I have never really had to worry about being employed, as I am still in High School and have started a paid internship through the school, however, I wish you the best of luck in finding a job. Help yourself out a little bit and devote a little bit of time each day or so to looking for a job, but don't kill yourself doing it... submit applications, and If you find a job you really like, and they don't call you back within a week or two... call them. Sometimes the applications get lost in piles of paperwork, trust me on that one, I have lost a few myself. But, not only does that show that you really want the job, it shows that you are responsible. Once again... Good luck! I hope you find a job soon

I am the same way!!!! I read your post and have been looking for a job for a long time. With being unemployed I feel worthless, useless, no hope. I was laid-off of my job of 20 years and my computer skills are rusty. I've tried classes, on-line help, etc. but NOTHING seems to work for me. Unemployment goes up and up. I have applied for many jobs online but I think it's just a scam. I am going to my unemployment office soon to look for a job, how bad is that? I've given up hope myself. It's sad.
but true. I have been depressed before suffering for a long time. I have my good years, but this is lasting too long. I have a psychiatrist that I've been going to for years. On lots of meds but can't find the motivation to move on. My poor cats, I can't deal with anything.

I totally understand what you are going through. I am having the hardest time finding a job in the feild I went to school for. I feel like I have payed my dues with service jobs that have lasted for years and that for my field I am about to become a proffessional seasonal. After moving to a small town for my husband's job I am now unemployed and my job prospects are incredibly slim. It's like there is no reward out there. Hang in there! There has to be something out there, and though I can't see a light at the end of the tunnel, I refuse to believe it isn't there. Keep trying! I wish you the best.
