Hi

Postby Andromeda » Sat Jan 04, 2014 6:12 am

Hi I'm Dave and new here. It seems like my problem is trivial but it still hurts like hell. I've always felt the need to be with someone. Loneliness always makes me cry bitterly. I have two small kids. Just this morning my wife and kids went to visit family in Our home country. I dropped them off and came back to an empty house. I miss my wife and kids terribly. The thought of not being able to see them for 3 months is unbearable. My job and situation did not allow me to go with them. I tried to prepare myself mentally for this but it did not help.i don't feel like eating, have trouble sleeping and I'm just very sad and lonely.

Thank you for the response. I'm not coping very well at this point. I'm frustrated and feeling hopeless. The house is very quiet without the kids and I miss them and miss talking to my wife. I've been stressed out for a long time regarding work, relationship with my wife, and finances. I've been drinking more, don't sleep well, and lost appetite. I've been talking to siblings over the phone. It makes it better for a while but I feel the same after some time.

You are welcome.

Oh dear.
Why do you feel this way?
Can you do something to take your mind off things for a while? Get out the house maybe?

I live in a small town with nothing much to do. I have just a couple friends who are busy with their own lives. My weekends were spent with wife and kids shopping, or doing household chores, movies at home, etc. now they are not here, it is very lonely.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that :(

Can I ask; where are your wife and kids?
Maybe can out for a walk or something? Just to get some fresh-air and clear your head?
That always helps me.

They are traveling to India. A walk will help but I'm in the US, and it is cold out. Sorry I have so many excuses....

Ah okay.
Why they going to India may I ask? How come you haven't gone with them?

It's okay.
I'm in the uk and it's cold here..
But if you wrap up warm, a walk may help?
How about that? Or go read a book?

I am in no mood to do anything. They are visiting family in India, first time for my kids and after 6 years for my wife. I couldn't go because I don't have enough vacation, and money. I haven't visited in 4 years...

Oh aww...
3 months will fly by, believe me. Can't you save up and go another time with the wife and kids?

I know your in no mood to do anything; but if you do a littl bit something oray help you and lift up your mood a little.
It's always worth a try.

I am going to say this because I care okay?
But your not helping yourself here at the moment; I mean I have given you suggestions and you won't accept.
What I have learnt from by here is that we all have to have some "tough love" every once in a while.
