Good evening/good morning

This is my post of introduction . Thank you to all for making this forum possible.

Have overcome depression and anxiety for some time however, have recently realised isloation is a terrible thing that can cause depression to re-occur.

I live alone and have always made a point of getting out and about ...driving , seeing friends, keeping busy and helping others'.

2 years ago, I had a minor injury from sport and was prescribed some strong painkillers.

Despite no longer taking this medication, it has left a big, psychological hole in my life. For example, the medication did dipsell depression. It made me more-active and, above all, very content with my own company ...too content in fact.

The upshot is reality has now set in. I no longer use the medication. And the slow realisation is it is a perelous path to use such medication indefinitely ... save for chronic pain.

Anyhow, I am trying to count my blessings. So thankful for other people who also understand depression/anxiety/isolation.

Hope I can contribute something good to the forum. Hope to make one or two special friends also.

Hi Swanwarbler,

Welcome to the room :)

I think a lot of people can relate with self-isolation. It is part of depression and I am glad that you try to find ways to connect with people to overcome that. Hoping that this room will support/help you and maybe you will find new friends too :)
