hello. My name is James and I was diagnosed with depression 10 years ago, when I was 16. I haven't had a computer until recently, so I am new to the internet, let alone forums. I think that this website seems like a really good idea. Since I am new to this I was wondering how this website has helped you and you're reasons for using it? I hope that isn't too personal a question I'm still getting to grips with forums, so please be patient:) Thank you for reading this. James.

Hi James. I find this site helps me a lot. I can talk and not feel persecuted or judged and I can just be me without any masks. I get to hear others stories and try to gain what I can use to help myself as well. And it helps me to be able to help others as well. I spend a lot of time here on the forums and in our Depression chatroom as well.

Welcome, James. I hope you find this site a place where you can share your frustrations and express your hopes. The forum is a great place to read and write and get comfortable here at DU. The chat room is another resource that allows you to listen to many people as they talk through their experience of depression and depression-related issues. I hope you find it a useful and positive place. Congratulations on the computer.
Best of luck to you and again a warm welcome.
