Mother Superior

Postby Warmsoul/Jeanie13 » Mon Jan 19, 2009 9:25 pm

A 98-year-old Mother Superior from Ireland was dying. Tearful nuns, hands clasped in prayer, gathered around her bed.

Trying to make her remaining hours comfortable, they tried giving her some warm milk. She refused it.

One of the nuns, remembering a bottle of Irish whiskey received as a gift last Christmas, took the milk to the kitchen and added a generous amount of whiskey to it.

Back at Mother Superior's bed, she once again held the glass to her parched lips.

This time she drank a little, then a little more, and before long she had emptied the glass.

'Mother,' the nuns pleaded in earnest, 'please give us some last words of wisdom before you depart.

With great effort, the old woman raised herself up in bed and said, 'Don't ever sell that cow!'
