The Top 11 Hints For Life
1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, but what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.
2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.
3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.
4. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
6. Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it only takes a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
7. Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be; because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to.
8. Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other too.
9. A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless.
10. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live life so that when you die... you are the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
Always remember-Life is precious, don't let it slip by....

Thanks very much indeed, (((( Warmie ))))!
These are excellent and important things to remember, and I am going to redouble my efforts to be mindful of them. I blush to admit though, that this isn't always easy in " the warp and weft " of life, particularly when things aren't going as well as they might.
I particularly worry about the words I use sometimes. There are times when I very much feel the cut and sting of the harsh words of others and genuinely believe that to be intentional. How then may I defend myself, without surrender, but with words equally sharp, and subtly barbed? As a fairly well educated, literate, articulate man, with a small talent for sarcasm, I can hold my own in such a duel, perhaps even win. But, even if I can verbally deflect or defeat someone else's attacking words, is that the person I want to be, when I would rather have made a friend?
I remember my Father saying that it was a " dog eat dog " world. I have never truly believed that, but I am well aware that in some ways these are difficult times, and for me to seem too empty-handed and vulnerable doesn't feel wise either...
So, you see (((( Warmie )))), when it comes to such hints as these it is well to be reminded of them.

I know I have posted this before, long time ago, but it doesn't hurt to have reminders. We are our own worst enemy on judging ourselves. This is like a wake up call, maybe we aren't as bad as we think. Right?
A smile is a simple thing, but says so much. That is what I try to remember.
What I see with you is a very kind, thoughtful and caring soul. Thank you for sharing that with us.

Thanks for the very kind " vote of confidence ", (((( Warmie ))))! It's very much appreciated!
As, you say, we are often our worst enemies on judging ourselves. I wonder sometimes why it seems so hard to be gentle with ourselves!
Still, as you say, it's good to have a wake-up call, that maybe we aren't as bad as we sometimes think.

Loved it!
#6 I don't whole-heartededly agree with at my current state of growth.
In love, I just feel balance is the key. There were enough people who make me smile & that I have loved. The reason I am not with any of them is that though they made me smile, though the darkness was blasted away, deficiency in the wealth department caused problems. When anything happened to me, I was all alone.
(Perhaps, though, my cases were extreme or unusual.)
Looks are not a top priority for me, but how that person makes me feel & wealth are important. Why go with someone if they will be a burden financially, despite having a great personality?
