Moral of the Story:

Postby Warmsoul/Jeanie13 » Fri Jul 29, 2011 12:53 pm

Enjoy this and remember how blessed we are each day to wake up to see what a great day it is.

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up.

A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way. "I wrote: 'Today is a beautiful day; but I cannot see it.'"

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign reminded people how fortunate they were to have their sight. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story:

Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

It's a beautiful thing to see a person smiling. But even more beautiful is knowing that you are the reason for the smile!

Faith is not about everything turning out OK; Faith is about being OK no matter how things turn out. If you appreciate this message, please share. You may touch someone's heart today and forever.

Enjoy this beautiful day with a heart full of gratitude.

Thanks heaps, (((( Warmie ))))! I needed that! :)
I've had an awkward sort of week, and I've felt that I've had to work hard to avoid falling into seeing rainbows only in various shades of grey...( If you know what I mean? :? )
As you say, it's important to be aware of and appreciate the small blessings and pleasures of life. Eg., I was feeling rather tired and low yesterday evening, after a rather awkward week at work. But, I made the effort to go to the cinema on the first night of the release of the edited version of the movie Captain America. Obviously it was quite a heavily edited version of what must have originally been a much longer movie. The movie starts with Steve Rogers as a young man in Brooklyn, taking part in a secret experiment and being transformed into Captain America. But what about the first part of the story? The early part of Steve Roger's life, ( Where he is born in South Wales, his family emigrate from Wales to the United States and he changes his name from Stephen Rogers-Jones to the more " American " sounding Steve Rogers. ), has been completely removed from the movie! :o  ... .
But, apart from that, I really enjoyed the movie. And, his vibranium shield is SOOOO cool! Everytime I see a galvanized steel dustbin lid I have the urge to pick it up, paint it red, white and blue and start fighting for Truth, Justice and The Welsh way! ( Although, if you asked ten different Welsh people what " the Welsh way " is, you would get eleven different answers... :? )

Have you seen the newest 'Harry Potter' movie? I did, and I thought, 'totally awesome'. I have all of the Potter movies, but the last one. When it comes out I will get it. Got the paperback novels as well. :)

Take care of yourself, please. Need you post your humor in here.

Thanks (((( Warmie ))))! :)
I haven't seen the latest Harry Potter movie as yet. Although, I've seen all the movies apart from this latest one and the last one. ( I missed the last one at the cinema, as I was ill at the time, and by the time I was feeling " 100 % " again, it wasn't there anymore... :( ) Still, I hope to see this latest one in the near future.
I'm not sure that the United Kingdom has really adjusted to the idea of a Harry Potter-less future though... :?
I remember an event that rather amused me when the book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came out. A local bookshop opened at midnight just so that people could by it as soon as humanly possible. As it happened, I was in the city centre quite late in the evening anyway, on my way home from somewhere. So, I thought that I'd pick up a copy myself, ( More for the experience of " joining-in " in the event, and the novelty of being in that bookshop that late at night than anything else, I have to admit. It's a quiet life in South Wales, and we have to find our innocent fun where we can...! )
Anyway, there I was waiting in line for the bookshop to open at midnight, with a very impressive amount of " hard-core " Harry Potter fans, quite a few of whom had children with them. ( I have no idea how the children involved had convinced their parents to:

( A ) Let their children stay up until midnight,
( B ) Bring said children into the city-centre, and hunt parking-spaces with the city's " nightlife " in full-swing...)

Anyway, there we all were, waiting in line patiently, parents talking to children, other people chatting casually, all very " British "...
Unfortunately, the unusual gathering of people at that place so late at night obviously attracted the attention of a guy who had obviously had too much to drink, and set about making himself fairly unpleasant. He started insulting the Harry Potter books, people who read them, and using some rather unpleasant language in so doing.
Normally, people would have just ignored him. However, as there were quite a few children around and having to listen to this drunk guy, he attracted quite a lot of criticism and hostility from the people in line. Particularly, from parents who actually had their children with them. Until the guy in question weaved away, there was a ripple of genuine disapproval and hostility among the people in line. And, for just a moment, I could see the next day's local newspaper headline in " my mind's eye "...

" Harry Potter reading mob beat-up abusive drunk...! " Not a headline you see every day...!

Interesting, as always. I know it wasn't the entertainment needed, but hey it was entertainment just the same. Almost as good as a movie, LOL, sorry...

You will enjoy the last two movies, especially since you have followed all the others. Once the last one comes out, I intend to have a Harry Potter weekend, looking forward to it, actually.
