life's mysteries solved....

Postby Obayan » Sat Jul 10, 2010 2:42 am

what fruites are in juicy fruit gum..... lemon, orange, pineapple and banana.

why don't cats like to swim..... cats actually do like to swim and do oftentimes.. but cats have a clean fetish and are lazy. Cats won't get wet because they figure it isn't worth the effort needed to dry and clean themselves with their tongue just to enjoy something as superficial as marine frolicing.

if trailor parks didn't exist, would tornadoes still exist..... only if there were local TV newscasters to shoot pictures of them.

we've all seen signs that say "all major credit cards accepted" but what is a minor credit card? ..... Whichever credit card you happen to be carrying that they don't accept.

I hope this helped to clear up a few of life's mysteries. :)

Re. credit cards...
Perhaps the " All major credit cards accepted sign " has a more subtle purpose...?
Afterall, if there were no signs at all about credit cards, the stores would be full of people asking: " Do you accept credit cards? " " Do you accept this credit card, or that credit card etc..."
However, if the stores displayed signs saying: " All credit cards accepted ", they would have no room for discretion, they would have to accept any credit card. And, who knows what would happen?
However by saying " All MAJOR credit cards accepted ", they are able to strike a stable balance of dynamic equivocation.
They convey the fact that credit cards are, in general, accepted, but give themselves a legal loophole that allows them to reject any card that they wish on the grounds that it's not a MAJOR credit card.
Or, I could just be reading too much into this?!
