Airplane announcements

An Air Canada plane took off from Torbay Airport in St.John's.
After it reached its cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight 293, non-stop from St.John's to Toronto. The weather ahead is good and we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Just sit back and. . . . OH MY GOD!"

Silence followed.

After a few minutes, the captain came back on the intercom.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he said, "I'm sorry if I scared you earlier. While I was talking to you, a flight attendant accidentally spilled a cup of hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!"

A Newfoundlander passenger yelled, "That's nothing. You should see the back of mine!"

oh i fly a lot so i find this amusing! it was bad when the power in the plane was down once right before it got in the air... but we made it safely...

Haven't flown often, but get really nervous about doing that. Guess at that time, the trips were worth the effort. Too bad that is gone out of my life now.
