Need advice where do I go now?
I'm James I'm 22 I've been unemployed for 2 years (not through lack of trying) I'm overweight which I have been bullied throughout my childhood for I never have money and when I do I owe it out for either having borrowed to go out drinking with my friends or for cocaine I am addicted to cocaine, not severely but whenever I go out with friends I feel like I need it to enjoy myself. Due to having no money or spending it on beer or cocaine all my clothes are old the last new things I got were a pair of trainers my dad bought me 2 years ago. I can hide all this in front of people but when I'm alone I either break down or sit in silence with all this going through my mind. I don't know where to go next or what to do about it any help would be appreciated.
Hello James,
There are lots of competition for jobs nowadays, 50 people might be applying for the same job, so what makes you stand out from the others? Why should they pick you? Spend your time and money wisely, instead of spending it on drink and drugs which doesn't achieve anything why not use it so you can overcome your problems. Wouldn't it be wiser to get a gym membership and sort out your health/weight problems than waste it on cocaine? Get a smart suit/shoes so you can make a good impression at interviews rather than spend it on alcohol.
While you are job hunting you may want to consider:
1. Volunteering (something you can fill in your CV rather than leave some big gap).
2. Short course/training in the field that you would like to get into, try to get some work experience even if it isn't paid.
Go out meet new people (networking) tell them you are looking for a job and if they like you they may offer you something or know someone who can. (You know that phrase, it's not about what you know but who you know).
As you haven't found a job in 2 years maybe try having someone look over your CV and get some advice on how to improve it.
Best of luck x

Hi James,
How are you now?
I assume you're seeking advice, of which I can maybe help. Firstly, I believe that you're not only bound by your addictions, but also some type of depression.
Intuitively, I feel that the addictions you suffer are a direct cause of some type of abuse and/or neglect...trauma you've suffered.
Am I correct?? If so, my heart goes out to you greatly.
Most people I've known carry these burden filled addictions because of pain- and a need to numb them.
Abusing these things, however, (I've been guilty) is a form of 'sorcery.' With that said, you cannot possibly achieve happiness...that lasts any longer than a few hours...Right?
My best advice, that seems like "common sense" is to see a mental health doctor who specializes in substance abuse/addiction.
It would seem to me that before you land a long-term job, you need to take care of first things first.
I hope that for your own sake that you will take any and all steps necessary, in order to heal yourself, so that you can climb higher in every way you wish in life.
And it is not only the 'here and now' you must think of. You must consider 'eternity,' and ask yourself the obvious question. I believe that you already know that you need help.
There is nothing wrong with that; What would be your worst mistake is to stand by complacently and do nothing to improve your situation...
I don't care how you have to do it. Get angry? Tell yourself you've had enough? Haven't you though, already?! Buck up- You can do this.
One day at a time.
