You're still fighting and that is very important. I quit fighting my weight back in my 20's. From rupturing my appendix to diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea and, after gastric bypass surgery, nutritional deficiencies, I blame my own eating habits to be the cause of most of the health issues I've h...

Define mental health
You hear the phrase "mental health" thrown around a lot in some circles. For instance I've been watching youtube videos about suicide lately and in the comments section people talk a lot about how people who committed suicide are "mentally ill". What constitutes mental health? I ...

Sometimes I'm a bit at odds with Frame, but he makes a good point about finding a mate. I was desperately lonely when I met the woman who would become my wife and I stayedwwith her even when it became more and more obvious that she only really cared about herself. 18 years later on I'm feeling prett...

I understand how you feel. For me too, eating is a comprehensive act. To be honest though I don't think much any more about why I do it. I'm sure that I'm trying to fill a hole. Probably the fact that I am depressed pushes me to find some pleasure in something and for me that something is food. Ther...

By now this is only a memory of a memory, but when it first came to me (around 40 years ago) it was both strong and very blissful. It would be from the first years of my life, when I was being pushed down the sidewalkwwhile laying in my stroller. I feel beautiful, warm sunshine on my skin and I beli...

I'm hoping that the construction worker is not representative of the astrophysicist and the mentally ill man the politician. I'm not quite taking your point at the end. In general, I do agree with your earlier point about supporting the sciences. By the way, by definition an immigrant cannot become ...

Well the algebra seems pretty straightforward down to the bottom. If 9x = 9 and you divide each side by 9 then X = 1. The last one just looks like you are rounding point 999 up to one. But maybe I'm not getting it. I'm sorry about your mom. What kind of prognosis did she get? And if that's a bit too...

Hello Tallie, welcome and I hope you can make some new friends here. I knowwwhenever I think of telling someone about my problems with depression I worry about how they will take it. A lot of people have very little experience with it and have trouble understanding how it effects some of us. Even he...

Hello, Frame was making some good points. I'm not sure it's important, but I wonder is your dad still working or is he retired? I'm asking because it seems like it would be a healthier environment if he was working regularly. It also sounds like you are probably a great help to your mother and that ...
