Most people don't want to talk about depression with their friends. I know that's the case with me. If I talk about my depression they're quick to change the subject. Most people don't even want to ear about illness, let alone depression. If you wan't to make friends and only talk about depression, ...

Holly61, I understand very well how you feel. In my case it never went away since I was a teenager. In the last 35 years, I had very few good days. I have a very good family and a few good friends so that's not the reason why I'm depressed. I'll never know, that's why it's better to find a cure than...

You're briefly happy because you did something you like, in a reasonable time frame, but you soon get sad, because you know you're not going to accomplish what you set out to do again anytime soon?

My friend Part III The hunt. My friend's favorite pastime is hunting back home. About 20 years ago, him, his brother in law and 2 friends are in the cabin, in the wood, in the evening, with nothing to do. Somebody suggest that they should go to town and get some gasoline for the 4 wheeler. It's a go...

My friend didn't screw his mother. Here's what probably happened in his ever optimistic mind. He'll take the money, fix his truck in two days, sell it in one day, this way, no one will know. Of course it didn't happen this way. This family is genetically optimistic. They were raised 12 kids in a sma...

Of course this site might have a lot of dark post.

Depression is an illness where you are in perfect health and want to die. It's sort of paradoxical.

Silver Surfer, By definition, depressed people lack motivation. I'm in the same situation you are, self-employed, no money, rely on others to survive, lack of motivation, would rather work on my own stuff. The days I accomplished nothing I feel guilty, like crap. In school, I never studied. When I w...

My most trusted friends, I have known for 20 or more years and not all of them know that I'm suffering from depression. I told only 2. I have a couple of other friends that I've known for 20 or more and I would not tell them about my situation because I know they wouldn't understand and would surely...

It looks like your relationship, with men, screw up your life more than it helps. This girl I know wanted to go to med school but her parents couldn't afford to send her. She studied to be a nurse, a few years later, she went back to be pharmacist. In her mid thirties, she managed to get into med sc...

My friend Part II My friend's home town is 600 miles from where we live. He bought this little pick-up truck that needed work. He fixed it up real nice and brought it back home to sell it because he can get a better price over there. On his way home, he had an accident and damaged the side of the tr...

Failmenot, You really hit the jackpot family wise. You're going to be a doctor soon, I have an idea of what it takes to make it through medical school. A lot of work, a lot of discipline, big commitments, being gifted and, most of all, compassion for others. They take the cream of the crop, in med s...

I guess we're all the same way here. I know that for me every it's battle to get things done, I just don't have the will to do whatever it is I have to do. I would rather roll up in a ball and wait, but then I fell guilty having done nothing, so I loose no mater what.
