This is a good, safe place to come for someone to talk to. Many of us have similar problems and can relate to yours. It's very important to have friends you can talk to. Where I live there is an couple organization called NAMI and they have group meetings a couple times a month. Might there be some ...

Hello there J. It sounds like you're having a pretty poor year. I hope it gets better for you. Many people do get help from antidepressants and therapy. It hasn't worked to well for me, but my depression has been pretty tenacious. Speaking of University, by far the best year I had was when I was 24....

I'd say that you have a point about what help you may find here. Mostly we can offer a group of people who can relate to you and the problems you're having. It can be helpful to just commiserate with people who have been there too.

I wish I could offer yous ome real help .

This is a good place to find friends who can relate. I know what you mean about most people not understanding how you feel.

I sometimes wonder if beinga chi ld of the 60's and 70s gave me and my sister the wrong attitude about life. My sister killed herself in 1969 and I've dealt with depression most of my life. Did growing up then leave us believing that we "should" be happy. That we are automatically deservin...

Hi there, I wouldn't worry too much about what your friend said. In any event she meant well and it's very important to have some friends that you can talk to about this. Try and use any positive feedbacky ou get and downplay the rest. I took wellbutrin for a few years, but I've almost never had neg...

Hi there, forecasting the future as far as how long it will take to get better is hard to do with any accuracy. I'm glad your family had the meeting with you. It's a good ide, ev en though it's bound to be hard for them to understand where you are at. I kinda wish I could have such a meeting, but I'...

Sex drive was (is, but now that I'm alone no one cares) a problem in my marriage too. It didn't seem to matter much which meds I'm on. Of course the fact that I get very little exercise and don't eat well either is bound to be part of the problem. Still, I attribute the bulk of the problem to my dep...

Hello my friend. I always wanted to be a Gemini. I was born on June 22nd and just missed the deadline. Got stuck being a crab instead. Used to have a joke book of horoscopes and my favorite was "you have delusions of adequacy". It was meant as a joke, but it really struck home with me. :-)...

Hi there George, Over the years I've gotten pretty cynical about alternative therapies, but after 40 years with the same problem I'm in no position to judge. Try things, some of them will help and maybe you'll find something great. I have a terrible time focusing on anything for any period of time. ...

Hi LadySith, I'm afraid I don't know how you can move past this, I'm fairly sure you can, but I don't know how. What I can tell you is that at 55 I still live with the young boy I once was. My family was always good to me and to this day I know that they love and accept me as I a. Sounds good I know...
