Re: Long suffering
Hi, What has been very successful for bipolar people and PTSD are client run family support groups. Let me explain how it works. This is a group of families that come together where one or more of the family members have a mental illness. The first hour everyone meets together, and the second hour, ...

Re: im dying and no one cares
You know, what strikes me is one of the first promises to Abraham, was the conversations about counting the stars in the night sky if you can, and that his descendants would be more numerous than that. Having children is a big deal to many people, but there are many ways to 'have children' and one o...

Anxiety, ADHD and medications, Epilepsy
I ran across some information for those who have a problem with anxiety, especially for those, for whom it is getting worse. My daughter when she was younger had petite mal epilepsy. She was medicated most of her childhood and eventually outgrew it. But there are MANY kinds of epilepsy and it can ma...

Overheard
I was waiting for a class at a college I attend in the hallway and over heard a conversation by a bunch of kids dissing those with schizophrenia. I just listened. The things they picked on about people like that made me realize how young and foolish they really were. For instance, they went on about...

Re: Best Advice Ever for.....
I don't say the word 'radical' much because it has been associated in my life with negative things. But I hear what you mean. I have a professor in my life who once told me that it is easier to criticize than it is to create. One of the best things he ever said to me. Because of him, I'm progressing...

I'm glad you found something that seems to help feel better. Generally, vitamin C and minerals is a good combination. Just don't overdo as vitamin and minerals do have side effects at higher than recommended dosages.

Re: Light therapy
Yes I have! At first I thought it was all just a put on, but it works! My husband and I bought a light therapy lamp in the proper light spectrum (not all lights are the same) and I'm sooo glad I did. People who need light therapy, need to start using their lamp as a preventative in mid September all...

Odd Memories, strange days.
My daughter said that I don't handle death well. Perhaps not, but then, I didn't realize how many times I'd actually gone through it. And when I became aware of the changes, I freaked out. I think anyone would. That's the blessing for most people is that they are NOT aware of it. Maybe that's why we...

Re: Fear of Vomiting
I think other than the 'yuck' factor, which is pretty obvious, there is a certain feeling of a loss of control of one's bodily functions. When I was in an ED support group, I was surprised to learn that people who preferred purging through vomiting absolutely hated the stomach flu. I was like.. but....

Re: My baby sister and now my daughter have passed away, I hurt
I hope things get better for you. I think you must be a wonderful dad to be grieving over the loss of one of the twins. My philosophy is that souls don't die, but wait to rejoin their loved ones somewhere down the line, ,maybe the twin that died lent extra strength so the other one made it. I don't ...
