I need to go to the doctors, but...

So, I haven't had a period so far in 2012. I took two pregnancy tests in Feb that both came back negative so for the most part I'm assuming pregnancy isn't the issue here. Though I guess it is still a small possibility. Stupidly I went searching for answers on the internet (I know, really shouldn't ...

I totally agree that when someone hasn't experienced depression or anxiety it can be very difficult to understand why it's there and how they can try to help without making it worse. I made the phone call :) Stumbled over my words a bit but the woman on the other end of the phone was really patient with me so that helped.

Extremely relieved it's done with now and now in just over a month I'll finally get to see a therapist - good times :)

After years on that waiting list I finally got a letter through for an appointment with a therapist! But there's a catch... today is the last day I have to ring up and confirm I'll attend else I lose it and will have to go through the whole referral procedure again. (Nice one IAPT, give an anxiety-r...

I got a hamster. :)

He's a syrian who I've named Hedgehog, because he's brown and spikes his fur up. :D Got him only four days ago - he was the only syrian the shop had and the woman said they'd been struggling to find a home for him because he's super shy, scared of everyone and everything and bites at every opportuni...

I'm going through a similar thing too. Retaking my first year of university, and starting to fall behind again. Sometimes it just feels like I've already done enough for a day or week, and can't bring myself just to go in to face the people who know I've been absent. If I could take my own advice, I...

Sometimes biological factors to depression simply give a person a greater chance of developing depression or in some cases a predisposition to it. In most cases it takes added elements such as stress or a difficult upbringing for the illness to develop. This is why a lot of therapists combine of med...

Hi all.

I'm Hazel, 20 years old and been suffering since I was a little girl. Spent ages 13-18 on a waiting list to see a mental health professional through Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
