Focus less on the world, more on yourself

Postby derkderk » Tue Sep 03, 2019 1:06 am

If I had the personality, I would keep a diary. But, I prefer to keep my observations in my own head. Among the many observations I think about, I notice a common concern among many is for approval from others. It may be my inheritance but early on I've learned to respond to others that mistreat me by "giving them the bird" and disregarding anything about them from then on.

I still suffer from debilitating depression everyday which makes it even more important how I throw away anyone who mistreats me because my own mind gives me enough crap to deal with.

I wonder if others out there could incorporate tossing aside anyone of no emotional value knowing that they could be happier and may actually gain social respect for standing up for what's right?

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to not want to keep company with anyone who treats you poorly. I think it’s wise to have good associations that build you up, not keep you down.

I half agree with you. It is important to focus on yourself, because that is where everything starts from. You. However you dont need to take on negative opinions unless it can have a positive effect on you. Its called positive criticism. Stand up for yourself if you need to, and dont let things get to you.
