Re: What happened? My background

Tiberiu, be proud of what you do - this is now your identity...you have completed your phd on something which you are passionate about - really does not matter what others think. coming to being social, i am pretty sure that there are many who work in your domain with a similar passion - you can sta...

Re: What to expect?

Hi Gareth, yeah it helps sometimes to shove some of those hazy and painful thoughts out and share. I have also read your other post, while i dont have a solution but wanted to know whether you have tried alternate methods/medicine like yoga/ayurveda.

Firstly want to empathize with your situation - with no straight solutions its a difficult situation to be. But i believe every situation is given to us to learn and once we learn the irritants pass on. Easy to write but hard to practice in real world, but hurting oneself is no solution, recommend t...

Re: I honestly don't know

I wanted to share that sometime back i and my wife went for a 7 day long yoga retreat - this helped us deepen our thinking and to be peaceful. i guess as much as we are at the su...

Re: Convincing Self to Get Help

I could immediately relate to your post since i go through somewhat similarly, periods of immense happiness than a sudden low which makes it difficult to grapple on. The last few years also revealed a pattern - whenever i am a part of a group which goes to villages and serves people - like distribut...

Re: Been a year, feels like yesterday

I could immediately relate to your post since my brother inlaw went through a similar trauma, we could support him through out by getting him out of his home often, talking and getting him involved in social activity. One key thing we observed is that he started to empathize those who are unfortunat...

Re: Adult son with depression

Felt sad reading your post, one thing which you mentioned that he is very silent and does not speak much - did you try to get one or more of his friends to talk to him and report back to you, sometimes a person going through depression opens up with friends than with immediate relatives.
