I agree, you have been doing so much, it's quite amazing! I was watching the actress who plays liz mcdonald on coronation street when she was on gmtv, and she said depression isn't a illness from weakness but from being strong for too long. I think I agree, by keeping it to yourself and struggling a...

hey, citalopram/ciprimil I think out of all the ones I have been on I found that the best with the least side effects. I'm glad you got a more understanding doctor, blatantly if you thought you cuold just 'pull yourself together' you wouldn't have felt the need to ask for help in the first place. So...

For depression alone no, I am two years off them now, but it has not been easy, and there has been times where I think I probably should have taken them. I think at christmas I should maybe have had meds because well, sometimes it's 'live to fight another day'. So maybe somethings could have been av...

All I am saying is that just get any job- then it enables you to write, without the pressure of having to get enough money to live on from it. Hopefully then your writing will get published, and it then could earn you enough- but I just don't think it should be your immediate aim because that is a l...

How about if you don't aim so high, I mean being a published author earning enough to make a living from doesn't happen to that many people. How about if you just look at getting a fairly simple/easy job- with no take home work, and write because you enjoy it, and just keep reading things, and writi...

Hey I know how you feel about meds. I think it is a really hard decision- obviously different meds affect different people differently. I also stopped taking meds because it just seemed to take away any of me that was left. But then when things get really bad I feel I may be irresponsible by not tak...

Thank you. I did tell my counsellor a few weeks ago (was very hard to tell her!- even though I trust her) and she said I should go see my doctor again. I didn't want to do this earlier (I had to see doctors and psychs in january) but I couldn't tell them because I had to get through uni, and I could...

hi, sorry your anxiety is bad at the minute. I found that propanalol was very helpful for anxiety and really helps with the physical symptoms, but maybe just talk to your doctor about it, because I am sure they will be able to discuss it with you.

Hello everyone

OK, hi everyone, I have been in chat a few times. Erm a little about me- I have severe/clinical depression, I got diagnosed with it at 15 and was on medication (different types) for about 6 years, but I'm affected quite strongly by them all, venlafaxine was the last one and I had such bad effects on...

hey, my mum is really into alternative medications for me- in my opinion the 5-HTP was better than st. John's wort- which I also found had no effect. However I do not know how effective it was tbh. I have severe and probably psychotic depression, and i took it as I was coming out a really bad bit. S...
